Leave the trappings of the modern world behind and join us as we explore the remote Kohala region on the northern tip of the Big Island. Climb aboard our 6x6 Pinzgauer Scrambler and witness the life-giving and land-sculpting power of water. We'll ramble through a changing landscape of rushing streams, towering ocean cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush green forest, before slowing the pace and exploring the area by foot.
See how people's lives, throughout history, have been tied to the water here; from the taro loi of Hawaiians to the irrigation ditches of Kohala sugar plantations. Kick off your shoes and take a dip in a cool mountain pool or simply relax and enjoy the breathtaking coastal and valley vistas.
We keep the groups small for a more intimate and memorable journey. Traveling by Pinzgauer is an adventure in itself but the real reward is the connection formed with a place in Hawaii few ever see. Time seems to have passed by Kohala, a land rooted in the past
