How do I make a reservation?

Do we need to make reservations in advance?
Reservations are required, and we recommend booking in advance. Some of our popular tours sell out 1-2 weeks in advance while others are sold on demand.

Can I call the day before and get on a tour once we are on the island?
Yes, although your tour of choice may be sold out. We do keep a wait list.

What is your cancellation policy?
Full price will be charged for cancellations and “no shows” unless we receive prior notice 24 hours in advance. Private charters require notice 72 hours in advance.

What happens if it rains?
We go rain or shine. Guides always bring raingear for everyone. We only cancel when weather makes transportation or walking hazardous.

What should we wear?
Each tour is unique as some offer opportunities for swimming, while others require sturdy footwear. Reference each Adventure Page to see what you should wear and bring.

Do you have any special discounts?
Kama’aina, AAA, military, and return guest discounts are available. Please call us at 808-331-8505 to create your reservation and apply the discount at the time of booking.

How do we get to Hawaii Forest and Trail headquarters?
We are located at 73-5593 Olowalu Street Building A. From Highway 19 (Queen Kaahumanu Hwy) turn up Hina Lani Street make your first right on Kanalani street, then your first left on Olowalu Street. and our headquarters will be on the left. 808.331.8505

How knowledgeable are your drivers?
We take great pride in having some of the best Interpretive Guides on the island. Our Guides are trained in island ecology, geology, natural history, in addition to safe driving practices, customer service and first aid.

What tours do you operate that are not accessible to the public?
We access private land in Kohala, Hualalai, and Hilo. Some areas are also only accessed with a permit
