Population size is difficult to determine for the Hawaiian Bat because of their nocturnal and solitary nature.
It is believed that a few thousand of them live in scattered populations across the Hawaiian Islands.
Size: 3-5 inches long with a 13 inch wingspan. Weighs only 0.5 ounces
Diet: Uses echolocation to feed on a broad range of insects.
Habitat: Found from sea level to 13,000 ft elevation on Kauai, Maui, Hawaii and rarely Oahu. They roost singly in trees or crevices in the day. They can often be seen at dusk circling and diving after insects in the air.
